Winter’s icy and snowy grip is still affecting many parts of Canada. Every province except Saskatchewan and Manitoba has special weather statements and warnings.

Depending on where you live on the West Coast the weather will be a mix of snow and rain. For most of central and western British Columbia, yellow alert snowfall warnings are in effect.

Between Sunday and Monday, places like Bulkley Valley the North Coast’s inland areas, Prince George, and Fort Nelson could get different amounts of snow.

Most places should get 10 to 15 centimeters of snow, but Environment Canada warns that parts of the Central Coast that are farther inland could get 30 to 40 centimeters between Sunday and Tuesday morning.

In other parts of the province, like Metro Vancouver, Coquitlam, and West and North Vancouver Island, heavy rains are expected. Forecasters are warning of a long-lasting atmospheric river, which has led the province to issue high streamflow warnings for most coastal areas.

Between Sunday and Wednesday morning, there could be 100 to 150 millimeters of rain. People are being told to be careful of large amounts of water pooling on roads and even possible washouts.

In both northeast and northwest Alberta, people could face very cold weather on Sunday morning, with wind chills close to -40 C. By Sunday afternoon, things should get better.

A patchy wintry mix is expected in most of central eastern and southern Ontario.

Central Ontario communities are under an orange alert winter storm warning. Sault Ste. In southern and eastern Ontario, it could also snow and rain at the same time. Kawartha Lakes, Barrie, and Belleville are all under a special weather statement. The forecast says that two to eight centimeters of snow will fall.

Cities like Toronto, London, Windsor, and Kitchener are more likely to see freezing rain that comes and goes, with the possibility of small amounts of ice forming.

In Quebec, there will also be snow There are yellow and orange alerts for winter storms in the central and southern parts of the province.

Val d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, and Chibougamau are some of the places that can expect 20 to 40 cm of snow between late Sunday and Tuesday morning. Environment Canada says that the snow will turn into ice pellets and then freezing rain which could leave up to five millimeters of ice.

Other places, like Temiscaming and Waskaganish, are on yellow alert because they are expected to get 15 to 20 cm of snow.

There is less of a chance of snow in the Maritimes, but Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are both under special weather warnings for heavy rain.

Environment Canada says that most of southern and central New Brunswick could get 20 to 40 mm of rain starting Monday afternoon. It could come with wind gusts of 60 km/h, but areas that are open could see gusts of up to 90 km/h.

Nova Scotia is expected to have similar weather but the rain will be between 30 and 50 mm and the wind will be up to 70 km/h.
